Jet's Phan-Style Bday Party

Tonight we celebrated Jet's 1st birthday with my side of the family. We ate, talked, took lots of pictures, and had a good time being altogether. I am thankful for my loud and rowdy family and Jet is very blessed to have so many people in his life who love him.

My parents surprised us with a Chinese outfit they bought for the Monkey - too cute!

 The proud grandparents

I have been craving my mom's noodle soup like crazy since being pregnant (I had 2 bowls today!) - it is soooo good!

 With Great-Grandma.
My dad is the oldest of 11 and my Grandma told me tonight that I needed to match that number; 2 down, 9 more to go!

 Funny boy

My mom made this little tiger cake for Jet since he was born the year of the Tiger

This is a little traditional game the Chinese play at a 1 year old's birthday; you place various items that represent different interests in front of the child and whichever one they pick indicates what they'll do in the future. Jet had two go's at it and according to the game, it looks like he'll end up being a farmer (he picked the fruit first) and a teacher (he went for a book the second time around).

Our little man. I can't believe that he's almost 1.
