So it's official! We have decided that we are going to try for a home water birth with Baby #2. Baby Girl and I have officially hit 37 weeks which means that if I were to go into labor at any time from this point forward, we will be good to do a homebirth, which is what we've been praying for. Thank you to all of you who have been praying for us - we appreciate all your love and support more than we can say.
We've already purchased the pool and have most everything set up in terms of preparing for the big day so now we're just waiting and anticipating Baby Girl's arrival. I am feeling at peace about doing a home water birth (another major answered prayer!) and am looking forward to seeing how the Lord will sustain and strengthen me through this momentous event. I have no doubt that He will orchestrate everything perfectly in order to glorify Himself and to have it all be for our good.
I realize that doing a homebirth is just a goal and that we could very well end up in the hospital for one reason or another but whatever happens, we praise God because His plans are always better than ours, and not only better, but perfect.
If you think of it, we would love your prayers. Please pray that the Lord will help keep me calm and focused during labor and that there will be no medical complications, that Baby Girl will be born healthy and that I will have a quick and smooth recovery. And that this birthing experience will be one that we can experience with much enjoyment and that through it all we will maintain a heart of praise and worship toward our amazing God, knowing that this little life coming our way is a precious gift and treasure from His hand.

I am so blessed to have been raised by such an amazing woman. My mom is the epitome of what every mom should be and the kind of mom that every child could ever want or need. My mom's love is sacrificial, tireless, consistent, and winsome. Even when my parents didn't have a lot of money, she would make sure that all my needs were met before hers were, making sure I had enough to eat, warm clothes to wear, and toys that would bring me joy. My mom is one of the sweetest, kindest, and most generous person you will ever meet and you cannot help but love her if you know her.
The amount of mother-in-law jokes that exist can only be indicative of what many people experience with theirs, which makes me oh so very thankful that this is NOT AT ALL the case with me. I get along with my mother-in-law so well and admire so many things about her. She is insanely brilliant, well-read, super generous, artistic, and willing to do whatever she can in order to serve you. All four of her boys adore her, a testament to the amazing mother she has been to them all their lives.
Moms, I love and respect you both immensely and am so thankful to have been blessed with such wonderful examples of what it means to be an excellent mother. My hope is that I can be as great of a mom to my kids as you both have been to yours, love you both so, so much!
